Dance Styles & Class Dress Codes

Acro

This fun class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique, teaching such skills as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance and contortion tricks, all each student’s individual level of experience.

Class Dress Code
Clothing: form fitting dance wear
Shoes: none
Hair: pulled away from face; avoid pony tails or buns in the center of the head that will limit your child’s tumbling

Ballet

Ballet is the “backbone” of all dance training. In ballet, a student will learn grace, elegance, technique, discipline, flexibility, stamina, and endurance. We strongly feel that ballet is the most important dance form that a dancer can study.

Class Dress Code
Clothing: specified (team colored)  leotard, & pink tights  
Topaz Team- Yellow/Gold colored Leotard
Ruby Team- Red colored Leotard
Sapphire Team- Royal Blue colored Leotard
Mini Company- Fuchsia (Hot Pink) colored Leotard
Junior Company- Teal colored Leotard
Teen Company- Black colored Leotard
Shoes: pink Sansha CANVAS ballet shoes 
Hair: pulled away from face into a secure bun; hair nets are mandatory to keep the hair from falling out

Cheer

Cheer is a class that involves tumbling, stunting, and the promotion of spirit. This is a great class for children who would like to participate in their school’s spirit squad someday!

Hair: pulled away from face; avoid pony tails or buns in the center of the head that will limit your child’s tumbling

Hip Hop

Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking.  This is an upbeat class and great for kids who like to move!

Clothing:free-fitting clothes such as basketball shorts, sweat pants, t-shirts etc.
Shoes: sneakers
Hair: pulled away from face

Jazz

Jazz is a stylistic, energetic form of dance is one of the most popular styles of dance.  This is a fantastic style for beginner dancers!

Lyrical

Lyrical class emphasizes interpretation of music lyrics as students learn to tell a story through dance. This style combines the fluid beauty of ballet with the more sharp moves in jazz.

Pom

Pom is a dance style that combines the use of poms into the movements. This style is a favorite for young girls who love to shake their pom poms!

Tap

Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun!

 Tumble

Tumbling is a combination of acrobatics and gymnastics designed for our youngest dancers. It consists of floor tricks (somersaults, cartwheels, backbends…etc) It also focuses on building muscle, strength and flexibility.
